ATHENS BIBLE CHURCH
Athens Bible Church is a non-denominational church which is community based and missions minded. Located near Athens, Ohio but situated in The Plains; we are close enough for people from all over Southern Ohio.
We serve Athens, Meigs, Jackson, Hocking and other surrounding counties; our local and worldwide digital presence is simple, sincere, and focused on teaching the Word of God faithfully. Our identity is consistent locally and across our website, podcast platforms and video channels. You are welcome to join our vibrant crowd of local and distant believers who seek real knowledge and understanding.
Sunday church services include prayer, congregational singing and classical hymns accompanied by piano, and a Bible Based Sermon. The message typically lasts about an hour and is followed by a time of fellowship.
The audio and video sermons are uploaded afterwards to enrich the lives of those who are unable to make it to church physically or because of distance. Our online church services offer a feel of community to those who need it.
Many people look for a church near Athens, Ohio; so, whether you’re new to church or have been attending for years – you’ll find a welcoming environment at Athens Bible Church. It’s totally fine to listen, observe, and participate at your own pace – in person or online.
College Students
Each week, we read and discuss passages from the Bible, ask questions, and learn how God’s message speaks to every culture and heart. We also share in prayer and friendship across cultural boundaries. Students from Ohio University and Hocking college currently attend.
Missions Outreach
Athens Bible Church feels an important emphasis should be placed on supporting foreign missions. Therefore, 20% of all offerings go to support missionaries and mission organizations.
Nursing Homes
Our nursing home ministry is a simple yet powerful way to share the love of Christ with the elderly. Each week, we visit local care facilities to lead worship, read Scripture, pray with residents, and offer companionship.
CAMP LOGOS
Looking for an Ohio Summer Bible Camp – Camp Logos is a long‑standing youth ministry of Athens Bible Church, located in the hills of southeast Ohio. The camp provides a week of Christ‑centered teaching and wholesome outdoor fun designed to strengthen young people in their faith. Each day includes focused Bible lessons, Scripture memory, small‑group discussions, and practical challenges that help campers apply God’s Word to their lives.
In addition to spiritual growth, Camp Logos offers a variety of classic camp activities—games, team competitions, outdoor recreation, and evening gatherings that build friendships and encourage teamwork. The atmosphere is intentionally simple and distraction‑free, allowing campers to focus on God’s Word and enjoy genuine Christian fellowship.
The goal of Camp Logos is not entertainment, but transformation: helping young people understand Scripture, grow in Christlike character, and develop a lifelong love for God’s Word. Many campers return year after year, and the camp continues to play a significant role in youth discipleship throughout Athens County and beyond. Camp Logos has been a long running venture with our partnering church – Salem Bible Church.
