Nursing Home Ministry
Our Nursing Home Ministry is a simple yet powerful expression of Christ’s compassion to the elderly in our community. Each week, members of Athens Bible Church visit local care facilities to lead worship, read Scripture, pray with residents, and offer personal companionship.
Many residents long for spiritual encouragement and meaningful connection. Through faithful presence and gentle ministry, we seek to remind every individual that they are seen, valued, and loved by God. This outreach reflects our church’s desire to bring Christ’s comfort to those who cannot easily join us in person.
Student Ministry
Our Student Ministry serves Ohio University and Hocking College students from around the world who are seeking community, friendship, and an opportunity to explore the Bible. Each week during the academic year, international students gather for a welcoming, discussion‑based Bible study hosted by Athens Bible Church.
Whether someone is new to Scripture, curious about Christianity, or simply looking for fellowship during their time in the U.S., they will find a warm and supportive environment. Together we read and discuss passages from God’s Word, ask honest questions, and discover how the message of Christ speaks to every culture and heart. Rides and refreshments are provided, and all are welcome.
Camp Logos
Camp Logos is a Christ‑centered summer camp ministry supported by Athens Bible Church in partnership with Salem Bible Church. Each year, children and youth enjoy a week of Bible teaching, worship, games, and outdoor activities designed to nurture spiritual growth and joyful fellowship.
Our desire is to plant seeds of faith, build lasting friendships, and encourage the next generation to follow Christ wholeheartedly. Camp Logos has been a long‑standing ministry connection for our church family. For additional details, visit Ohio Bible Camp.
Youth Retreat
Our Youth Retreat is a weekend gathering held each March at Peniel Bible Camp in partnership with Salem Bible Church. This retreat serves as a “mini‑camp,” offering many of the same Christ‑centered activities found at Camp Logos—Bible teaching, worship, fellowship, and shared recreation.
The retreat provides students with focused time away from daily routines to grow spiritually, strengthen friendships, and experience the encouragement of Christian community.
