Thomas Cranmer: A Heart Strengthened in the Fire

A devotional reflection on Cranmer’s repentance and courage.

Church Martyrs Before 1600

God restores the wavering heart. Cranmer wavered under pressure but later repented publicly, declaring Christ boldly. He thrust his hand into the flames first, saying it had signed what his heart denied.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us. (1 John 1:9)

Be strong and of a good courage. (Joshua 1:9)

My grace is sufficient for thee. (2 Corinthians 12:9)

Christian Application

This devotional encourages believers that God restores the repentant and strengthens the weak. Bring your failures to Christ today. His grace restores.

Sample Prayer

Lord, strengthen my heart. Restore me where I have failed. Make me courageous in Your truth. Amen.
