Matthias: The Apostle Chosen Through Prayer

A devotional reflection on Matthias’s quiet faithfulness and divine appointment.

The Apostles of the Lord

God sees faithful hearts long before others do. Matthias followed Jesus from the beginning but remained unseen until the moment God appointed him to replace Judas. His selection came through prayer, Scripture, and trust in God’s sovereignty.

Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men. (Acts 1:24)

The lot fell upon Matthias. (Acts 1:26)

In due season we shall reap. (Galatians 6:9)
