Obadiah: The God Who Judges Pride And Protects His People

A devotional reflection on God’s justice, the danger of pride, and His protection of His people.

Obadiah

Obadiah reveals God’s judgment on pride and His care for His people. Obadiah teaches that God opposes the proud and defends those who trust in Him. Edom’s downfall shows that no nation or individual can stand against God’s justice. His sovereignty ensures that evil will not triumph forever.

The pride of thine heart hath deceived thee. (Obadiah 1:3)

The day of the LORD is near. (Obadiah 1:15)

Upon mount Zion shall be deliverance. (Obadiah 1:17)

Christian Application

Obadiah encourages believers that God sees injustice and will act in His perfect time. His people are never forgotten or abandoned. Reject pride, trust God’s justice, and walk humbly before Him.

Sample Prayer

Lord, keep my heart humble and help me trust Your righteous judgment. Amen.
