Who We Are
Athens Bible Church is a non-denominational, Bible-believing Christian fellowship committed to the authority of Scripture and the gospel of Jesus Christ. Located near Athens, Ohio and situated in The Plains, we welcome individuals and families from across Southern Ohio who desire Christ-centered teaching, reverent worship, and genuine Christian community.
We serve Athens, Meigs, Jackson, Hocking, and surrounding counties. Our local and worldwide digital presence reflects a sincere commitment to sound doctrine, faithful exposition of Scripture, and the building up of believers. Sunday worship includes prayer, congregational singing, and classical hymns accompanied by piano. Each service centers on a weekly Bible-based sermon that exalts Christ, explains Scripture accurately, and encourages believers in faithful Christian living. The message typically lasts about an hour and is followed by warm Christian fellowship.

Camp Logos
Looking for an Ohio Summer Bible Camp – Camp Logos is a long‑standing youth ministry of Athens Bible Church, located in the hills of southeast Ohio. The camp provides a week of Christ‑centered teaching and wholesome outdoor fun designed to strengthen young people in their faith. Each day includes focused Bible lessons, Scripture memory, small‑group discussions, and practical challenges that help campers apply God’s Word to their lives.
In addition to spiritual growth, Camp Logos offers a variety of classic camp activities—games, team competitions, outdoor recreation, and evening gatherings that build friendships and encourage teamwork. The atmosphere is intentionally simple and distraction‑free, allowing campers to focus on God’s Word and enjoy genuine Christian fellowship.
The goal of Camp Logos is not entertainment, but transformation: helping young people understand Scripture, grow in Christlike character, and develop a lifelong love for God’s Word. Many campers return year after year, and the camp continues to play a significant role in youth discipleship throughout Athens County and beyond. Camp Logos has been a long running venture with our partner, Salem Bible Church.
Missions Outreach
Athens Bible Church places a strong and intentional emphasis on supporting foreign missions, believing that the gospel should be carried to the nations with both prayer and tangible commitment. To reflect this conviction, 20% of all offerings are dedicated to missionaries and mission organizations serving around the world.
This global focus reaches across South America, Africa, and Europe, where faithful men and women are planting churches, training leaders, translating Scripture, strengthening local believers, and sharing Christ in communities that hunger for hope. By consistently investing a significant portion of our resources, we help sustain long‑term ministry, encourage frontline workers, and participate in the advance of the gospel far beyond our own region.

Nursing Homes
Our nursing home ministry is a simple but deeply meaningful way to share the love of Christ with our elderly neighbors, and hymn singing is one of the most cherished parts of these visits. Each week, our team enters local care facilities to lead worship filled with familiar hymns that awaken memories, bring comfort, and create a sense of shared fellowship. Residents often join in softly, tapping a hand, mouthing the words, or smiling as beloved songs fill the room.
Alongside the hymns, we read Scripture, pray with individuals, and spend time listening to their stories. These moments of companionship remind residents that they are seen, valued, and loved. Beyond the structured worship, we linger for gentle conversations, offer encouragement, and bring a steady, Christ-centered presence to those who may feel isolated.
