Acts 4:23-31

August 19 2007 – Audio Sermon on Acts 4:23–31 by Pastor William Hixson

After release the apostles pray for boldness and the Spirit fills them The prayer and subsequent empowerment show the centrality of prayer and the Spirit for courageous witness. The passage teaches that corporate prayer precedes and empowers mission, that dependence on God is the source of boldness, and that the Spirit’s filling equips ordinary people to speak and act with divine authority

Some good hymns for Acts 4:23–31 are Holy Holy Holy by Reginald Heber, A Mighty Fortress Is Our God by Martin Luther and Be Thou My Vision by Dallan Forgaill
