Acts 7:54-60

November 25 2007 – Audio Sermon on Acts 7:54–60 by Pastor William Hixson

Stephen’s martyrdom marks a turning point in the early church The passage exposes hardened hearts but also shows how witness in suffering can catalyze mission and scatter believers for wider proclamation. The narrative invites the church to see suffering as both a cost and a conduit for mission, to remember that persecution often disperses the faithful into new mission fields, and to trust that God can bring growth and renewal out of apparent defeat. It also calls leaders to steadfastness and communities to care for those who suffer

Some good hymns for Acts 7:54–60 are Alas and Did My Savior Bleed by Isaac Watts, Be Thou My Vision by Dallan Forgaill and When I Survey the Wondrous Cross by Isaac Watts
