A devotional reflection on Jesus healing the centurion’s servant.
A Roman centurion approached Jesus with humility and confidence. He believed Jesus could heal with a word. His faith astonished Jesus. It was not based on heritage or tradition but on recognition of divine authority.
Authority Recognized and Revered
The centurion understood authority because he lived under it. He knew Jesus did not need to be physically present to act. His faith honored Jesus’ identity. And Jesus honored his faith.
A Miracle at a Distance
Jesus healed the servant without ever entering the house. His power is not limited by proximity. His authority reaches across distance, circumstance, and impossibility. And His compassion extends to all who call on Him.
Living With Humble Faith
Believers today are invited to trust Jesus with the same humility. To recognize His authority. To rest in His word. And to believe that He is able.
