Jan Hus: The Forerunner of Reformation

A devotional reflection on Hus’s stand for Scripture.

Church Martyrs Before 1600

Truth is worth suffering for. Hus preached Scripture boldly, opposed corruption, and called for reform. He was burned at the stake, praying for his enemies. His death sparked movements that shaped church history.

Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. (John 17:17)

We ought to obey God rather than men. (Acts 5:29)

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet. (Psalm 119:105)

Christian Application

This devotional encourages believers to stand for truth even when costly. Hold fast to God’s Word today with courage.

Sample Prayer

Lord, give me Hus’s conviction. Help me stand for truth with humility and love. Amen.
