As many disciples desert Jesus he asks the Twelve if they will also leave; Peter confesses faith in Jesus as the Holy One of God The sermon highlights the cost of following Christ, the necessity of divine enablement for true commitment, and the role of confession in community It calls leaders to steady faith, to pastoral care for those who struggle, and to dependence on the Spirit for perseverance
