Peter’s Mother-in-Law: Raised to Serve

A devotional reflection on Jesus healing Peter’s fever-stricken mother-in-law.

Miracles of Restoration

Jesus restores us so we can serve. Peter’s mother-in-law lay sick with a fever, unable to rise. Jesus touched her hand, and immediately she was healed. Her first response was to serve. This miracle shows that healing is not only for comfort but also for renewed purpose.

And he touched her hand. (Matthew 8:15)

The fever left her. (Matthew 8:15)

She arose, and ministered unto them. (Matthew 8:15)

Christian Application

This devotional encourages believers that Jesus restores strength so they can bless others. Healing leads to service, not self?centeredness. Offer your restored strength to God today. Serve someone with gratitude.

Sample Prayer

Lord, thank You for restoring me. Use my renewed strength for Your glory. Amen.

Hymns for Miracles of Restoration

This devotional pairs well with the hymns Take My Life and Let It Be by Frances Havergal, O Master Let Me Walk With Thee by Washington Gladden, and I Would Be True by Howard Walter.
