Polycarp: Faithful Unto Death

A devotional reflection on Polycarp’s steadfast confession.

Church Martyrs Before 1600

Faithfulness grows from lifelong devotion. Polycarp, a disciple of John, refused to deny Christ even when threatened with fire. His calm courage came from decades of walking with Jesus. His martyrdom inspired generations to stand firm.

Eighty and six years have I served Him. (Polycarp’s testimony)

Be thou faithful unto death. (Revelation 2:10)

I know whom I have believed. (2 Timothy 1:12)

Christian Application

This devotional encourages believers that faithfulness is built daily, long before trials come. Walk faithfully with Jesus today, in small and steady obedience.

Sample Prayer

Lord, strengthen my devotion. Make me faithful unto death. Amen.

Hymns for Church Martyrs Before 1600
