The Man Full of Leprosy: Touched by Compassion

A devotional reflection on the leper who approached Jesus in desperate faith.

Miracles of Restoration

Jesus is willing to cleanse what others avoid. This man was – full of leprosy, – meaning advanced, disfiguring disease. People avoided him, but Jesus touched him – something no one else would do. His healing shows that Jesus’ compassion reaches into the most rejected places.

Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. (Luke 5:12)

I will: be thou clean. (Luke 5:13)

Immediately the leprosy departed. (Luke 5:13)

Christian Application

This devotional encourages believers that Jesus is not repelled by their brokenness. He touches what others fear and restores what seems beyond hope. Bring your deepest wounds to Jesus today. He is willing to make you clean.

Sample Prayer

Lord, thank You for touching the untouchable places in my life. Cleanse and restore me by Your grace. Amen.

Hymns for Miracles of Restoration

This devotional pairs well with the hymns Jesus Lover of My Soul by Charles Wesley, Rock of Ages by Augustus Toplady, and Amazing Grace by John Newton.
