The Man Lowered by Friends: Faith That Carries

A devotional reflection on the paralyzed man carried by faithful friends.

Miracles of Restoration

Sometimes healing begins with the faith of others. This man could not reach Jesus on his own. His friends carried him, tore open a roof, and lowered him into Christ’s presence. Jesus honored their faith and healed both the man’s soul and body. Their determination shows the power of intercession and community.

When Jesus saw their faith. (Luke 5:20)

Thy sins are forgiven thee. (Luke 5:20)

Arise, take up thy couch. (Luke 5:24)

Christian Application

This devotional encourages believers that God often works through the faith of others. When we cannot carry ourselves, faithful friends can carry us to Jesus. Pray for someone today who cannot lift themselves. Carry them to Jesus in faith.

Sample Prayer

Lord, thank You for those who carry me in prayer. Help me carry others to You with love and persistence. Amen.

Hymns for Miracles of Restoration

This devotional pairs well with the hymns What a Friend We Have in Jesus by Joseph Scriven, Blest Be the Tie That Binds by John Fawcett, and I Need Thee Every Hour by Annie Hawks.
